This contemporary piece originates from the Taznakht region of southern Morocco and is defined by an expressive interplay of colour, texture and form. Measuring 264 × 375 cm, its generous scale allows the composition to unfold across a rich field of deep reds, burnt oranges, ochres, muted greens and touches of blue and white.

Woven entirely from high-quality sheep’s wool, the carpet has an exceptionally tactile surface, with variations in pile and texture adding depth to its graphic composition. Geometric forms appear to overlap, shift and dissolve into one another, creating a sense of movement that gives the piece an almost painterly quality.

Rather than following a rigid, repeating pattern, the composition embraces asymmetry and variation. Blocks of colour, irregular shapes and contrasting textures come together in a deliberately spontaneous arrangement, while the handwoven construction preserves subtle imperfections and shifts throughout the surface.

The result is a bold contemporary interpretation of Moroccan weaving — expressive without losing its material grounding. Berber rugs rarely but regularly need a wash to retain their value. Proper cleaning will bring back the colors and remove dust and dirt. The carpets should be regularly aired and carefully vacuumed.
