Very old high quality and authentic carpet from Ait Ouaouzguit, south of Ouarzazate in southern Morocco. Ait Ouaouzguit is a large confederation of Berber tribes known for their fine weaving and technique. Carpets are woven with high quality sheep wool by combining different weaving techniques, as in this carpet where flat weave and medium pile are recognized.
